Is chinese / wombok cabbage (raw) low FODMAP?

The wombok panel at 75 g shows all six indicators green. At 488 g, fructans are amber while fructose, lactose, mannitol, sorbitol and GOS stay green. The two reference points should not be converted into an unlimited allowance or used to assign ratings to every quantity in between.

Chinese / Wombok Cabbage (Raw) and IBS: what to know

Wombok can contribute a measured part of a salad or a cooked cabbage dish. Track the cabbage separately from a dressing or filling, particularly when comparing a plain vegetable portion with dumplings or other prepared foods. The large amber reference supplies context; it is not an instruction to eat a large bowl.

Gut-friendly ways to eat chinese / wombok cabbage (raw)

Wash, prepare and weigh the raw wombok before shredding or cooking it. For a shared slaw, record the cabbage in the batch and how many portions were served. Consult raw red cabbage for a different cabbage variety, and drained red sauerkraut for a preserved preparation with separate reference weights.

Frequently asked questions

Is one cup of wombok the only green amount established here?

One cup is the description attached to the 75 g green reference. The page preserves the app's listed points rather than inventing additional tested serving sizes.

Can fermented cabbage use wombok's raw portion?

Fermentation and added ingredients produce a different preparation. Select the corresponding preserved-food entry instead of applying the raw wombok guide.

Does this cover a dumpling made with Chinese cabbage?

It describes the raw cabbage ingredient. A dumpling also includes its wrapper, other filling ingredients and the number eaten, which need separate consideration.
