Is white daikon (raw) low FODMAP?

The standard portion has green indicators for all six FODMAP groups. At 279 g, approximately one and a quarter cups, fructans are amber. At 350 g, around one and a half cups, fructans are red. Fructose, lactose, mannitol, sorbitol and GOS stay green at each inspected amount.

White Daikon (Raw) and IBS: what to know

Daikon may be one small component of a garnish or a larger part of a vegetable dish, so keep the amount in your notes rather than treating those uses as equivalent. If a condiment or dressing accompanies it, record that separately. The vegetable panel does not assign a rating to the whole recipe.

Gut-friendly ways to eat white daikon (raw)

Weigh the raw daikon before cutting or grating it. If it goes into a cooked dish, retain that starting amount for your portion because no cooked conversion was checked. Peeled jicama and peeled kohlrabi have separate guides for comparing other vegetable components without transferring daikon's results.

Frequently asked questions

Does this result cover pickled daikon?

No. The inspected entry is raw white daikon. A pickled preparation has a different process and may include other ingredients.

Do grated daikon and large pieces need different gram references?

The checked preparation is raw daikon. Weigh it rather than relying on how grated or chopped pieces fill a cup.

Does the high serving show fructose as the problem?

Fructose stays green in the three inspected panels. Fructans change at the larger listed portions.
