Is wattleseed (ground) low FODMAP?

All six groups are low at 2 g. Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are moderate at 3 g while the other groups remain low. At 4 g GOS is high and fructans are moderate; fructose, lactose, mannitol and sorbitol stay low. The small difference between these weights makes measured portions more informative than a freehand spoonful.

Wattleseed (Ground) and IBS: what to know

For IBS meal notes, count the ground wattleseed in the slice, biscuit or dessert portion eaten rather than the whole batch. A second serving changes that share. Record the recipe's flour, dairy, fruit and sweeteners as well, because the wattleseed rating does not assess those ingredients.

Gut-friendly ways to eat wattleseed (ground)

Weigh the ground ingredient before mixing it into batter or another recipe, and divide it across the portions made. If the recipe includes a separate wattleseed topping, count that too. Dried ground lemon myrtle has a different portion profile and should be checked separately when both flavour a baked item.

Frequently asked questions

How much ground wattleseed is low FODMAP?

The listed low weight is 2 g. Calculate the amount in the servings you eat from the full recipe's ingredient weight.

Is the larger rating only about GOS?

GOS is moderate at 3 g and high at 4 g, but fructans are also moderate at 4 g. Both groups matter at that larger reference.

Is a wattleseed biscuit automatically low FODMAP?

The complete biscuit recipe needs assessment, including its base ingredients and portion size. The flavouring alone does not determine the result.

Can I use the same weight for an extract or drink concentrate?

No. Those are different preparations. This entry does not establish a concentration conversion from ground wattleseed.
